A group of our Year 10 students took part in an inspiring and educational ‘Careers at the YMCA’ event in central Milton Keynes.
The visit to the YMCA Headquarters marked the successful conclusion of a series of in-school workshops designed to develop key employability skills and prepare our young people for the future.
Exploring Diverse Career Pathways
During their time at the HQ, students had the unique opportunity to meet with several members of the YMCA team. Staff members provided invaluable first-hand insight into their daily job roles, responsibilities, and the diverse career pathways available within the organisation.
The visit concluded with a series of tailored 1:1 meetings with the YMCA’s professional career advisor. These sessions focused on practical steps for entering the workforce, including:
- Job Hunting: Effective strategies for finding the right employment opportunities.
- Interview Preparation: Practical tips on how to present oneself confidently to potential employers.
Outstanding Representation from Stantonbury Students
Our students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, describing the sessions as inspiring, useful, and a fascinating eye-opener to rewarding careers they never knew existed.
We are also incredibly proud to report that the YMCA staff commented very favourably on our pupils. They highly praised the hard work, positive attitude, and exemplary conduct demonstrated by the group throughout the visit. They were fantastic ambassadors for Stantonbury School.
