Our Year 10 boys’ football team recently traded the school fields for the big leagues, stepping out onto the professional pitch at Stadium MK for the highly anticipated Stantonbury TOVE 10 Charity Match.
Facing off against our fellow Tove Learning Trust rivals, Lord Grey Academy, this was more than just a game. For most of these lads, walking through the tunnel and playing in a professional stadium is a lifelong dream—and they gave it absolutely everything they had from the first whistle to the last.
Incredible Support in the Stands
We didn’t just bring a team to Stadium MK; we brought the entire Stantonbury community! Around 100 fantastic Year 10 students packed into the stands to cheer on their classmates, creating an electric atmosphere from start to finish.
The creativity on display was brilliant, with students bringing along handmade posters dedicated to our star players. More importantly, the conduct of every single student in attendance was an absolute credit to Stantonbury School. They represented us with pride, passion, and impeccable behavior, proving that our off-pitch support is just as world-class as our on-pitch effort.
A Hard-Fought Battle and the Real Win
The match itself was a nail-biter. After a grueling, hard-fought battle on the pitch, the final whistle blew with a narrow 3-2 loss for Stantonbury. While the scoreboard wasn't quite in our favour, the real victory happened off the pitch.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who bought tickets and supported the event, we raised £200 for Willen Hospice!
