This term, some of our Year 11 and Year 12 students have been engaging in high-impact employer encounters to explore the diverse world of Apprenticeships, T-Levels, and Degree-level pathways.
Worktree: 'Meet the Employer'
On February 9th, we were delighted to welcome our partners from Worktree back to the school. During the event, students worked directly with visiting professionals to identify the core employability skills sought after across various industries. The session also covered practical techniques for successfully securing an apprenticeship in a competitive market.
Feedback from the visiting employers was exceptional; they noted that our Year 11 students, in particular, were incredibly engaged, inquisitive, and proactive throughout the activities.
Insights at Volkswagen (VW) Kingston
This event followed closely on the heels of a bespoke Sixth Form trip to the Volkswagen facility in Kingston. This visit was specifically curated for students interested in Higher or Degree Level Apprenticeships and T-Quals (T-Levels).
The day offered a deep dive into the operations of a major local employer. Our students participated in hands-on activities identical to those expected of current VW apprentices, providing a realistic "day in the life" experience.
Student Feedback: Our pupils described the experience as "outstanding" in helping them make informed decisions about their next steps after Sixth Form.
We are incredibly proud of how our students conducted themselves. The VW staff were quick to confirm that our pupils were a credit to themselves and Stantonbury School throughout the entire day.
Looking Ahead
These encounters are a vital part of our careers programme, bridging the gap between classroom learning and the professional world.
We would like to thank Worktree and Volkswagen for their continued support in inspiring the next generation of professionals.
